‘The Hermitage’ spans over 1.75 acres with only 7 living systems developed exclusively for those with a passion for traditional living yet recognise the need of modern gadgetry.

Each of the 7 living systems is named after one of the saptarishis. As the name, the style and presentation of each system is planned to be unique. The choice of material and method of construction will be vernacular and will keep the carbon footprint in mind.

Each living system will be a mini-hermitage of size 6000 sq feet with the built-in area of 600 sq feet with its personalized set of trees, flowering plants and herbs. The trees will be identified based on the traditional vruksha sastra (science of plant kingdom) and planted as per the guidelines given in it.

Natural lighting and cross ventilation are treated as basic design elements and will be incorporated into each system.

The Rasi Vana (Zodiacal Forest) will be built around the meditation huts and Yoga pavilion.

Last but not the least, Ayurvedic principles of retreat construction will be incorporated in the modern architectural design to make ‘The Hermitage’ complete in all aspects.

When complete, the on-call facilities would include an Ambulance, Laundry and trained Yoga teacher(s). A mini-conference hall, wi-fi connectivity, community kitchen, a home theatre, 2 Meditation huts, a Yoga pavilion and a go-shala will be punctuated amidst these…
